Some colleagues jokingly suggest that Jason was "born on a battery rack." Prior to joining MK Battery, he got his feet wet in the industry by working for his dad’s battery dealership in Canoga Park, Ca., in the late 1980s.

After a short stint in construction following his dad's sale of the battery business, Jason joined MK Battery in 1996 to help grow the company’s motorcycle battery sector, which had recently started transitioning to sealed Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries. He spent most of his time helping develop niche markets and building relationships with key distributors while promoting both MK’s Westco motorcycle and SVR car audio brands. He has worn multiple hats during his tenure, including Technical Support Specialist, Customer Service Manager, and Regional Sales Representative before transitioning into his current role as Western Regional Sales Manager. He has also been a regular contributor to the MK marketing efforts throughout his career.

For Jason, "joining MK Battery 27 years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made, next to marrying my wife, Aimee, of almost 28 years. I have learned so much from my East Penn and MK colleagues, not only about the battery business, but also about life. One of my early mentors would always ask me, ‘Jason, is it the right thing to do?’ That resonated with me and is something I apply both personally and professionally. We follow a mantra that has been around since the company founders were here. It's called ‘The MK Way,’ - meaning always going above and beyond to take care of the customer. The reality is that without customers, the company doesn't exist."

In his Regional Sales Manager role, Jason travels with sales reps to meet existing customers and new prospects. Jason enjoys networking and building deep, long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers. He says the key to a long-term partnership is transparency, doing what you say you will do, and being responsive. "Having some of the highest quality products in the industry is essential, but if we don't back that up with honesty, reliability, and timely follow-up, we have less differentiation.”

Jason says, "MK Battery has been like a second family to him. My relationships with many team members will continue beyond my professional career. We have experienced life together." He says the culture of family importance permeates throughout the organization and that MK Battery has always been a place that allows you to have a proper balance of work and home life.

In Jason's time away from work, he enjoys the beach, coaching soccer, and training in the gym. As an empty nester with two grown daughters, he spends time hiking, dining out, and working on house projects with his wife. Jason is also a fanatic fan of the University of Southern California football team. He credits his late grandfather, who, when he was 12 years old, sold newspapers in front of the LA Coliseum to earn his way into games, instilling a love for the USC Trojans. He also says his 98-year-old grandmother, Vivian, still watches every game.

In looking to the future, Jason is "excited about new opportunities that will arise as a result of the expansion of our product portfolio." He looks forward to working with his teammates to help continue the company's legacy for many years to come.
