Paul Ross, Director of Operations at MK Battery International (MKBI), looks after both Operations and Customer Service for MKBI. Paul has had a remarkable career in the battery business. Not only does he have 19 years under his belt with MKBI, but he has been in the industry for 41 years.

When describing his time within the battery industry, Paul said, “Working for a large battery manufacturing company for many years, it was certainly a case of when one door closes another one opens! Joining MKBI as employee number 4 was a real eye-opener. What drew me to the company was the opportunity to help grow something new, with great products for special markets.”

A typical day for Paul includes making sure everyone has a plan in place to take care of our customers. It can be quite a comprehensive and evolving list, as MKBI has operations in multiple countries. Each country MKBI serves has its own unique set of government regulations and policies that the company must adhere to.

When we asked what Paul’s favorite part of his job is, he explained, “The team is my favorite part of the job, relationships with our teams across the world, it still amazes me how such a small team of dedicated people can make so much happen. Even when circumstances seem insurmountable, we seem to always find a way to get the job done and get the customers taken care of! The last three years have shown this. It is our people that make me most proud of working for the company.  Each of our locations are staffed by people who go above and beyond, and I know from speaking to our customers that it is the quality and commitment of our people that make the difference.”

To get to know Paul personally, we asked what he likes to do in his free time. Paul described his two passions that he says may take up a little too much of his free time. Paul filled us in, “Taking up golf after years of being involved in local football (soccer) has given me a sport that has kept me in touch with friends and allows me still to have a challenge. What an amazing game, skill honor and integrity required!”

Also an avid traveler, Paul told us, “My love of my hometown football team, Newcastle United, and the Northeast of England is something I am extremely proud of. I have been lucky and have traveled for work and on holiday across the world, to some amazing places.  Caroline and I have two places where we would live if the lottery came in. Viareggio in Tuscany, Italy would give us the weather and somewhere that makes you smile. But could I just throw a house in the vicinity of St James Park in Newcastle upon Tyne in the mix?”

Why yes, yes you can Paul! Thanks for letting us get to know you a little better. We couldn’t imagine what MK Battery International would be like without you!
