Jeff Pitzer, Director of Operations US, oversees warehouse operations, route service logistics and distribution, purchasing and customer service. Jeff has quite a bit of experience under his belt. Prior to joining MK Battery 19 years ago, Jeff worked for 15 years in healthcare administration. Jeff said, “Joining MK Battery was a ‘leap of faith' … a trusted colleague who had recently joined MK Battery sang its praises and you know what, he was not wrong! I guess you could say, ‘the rest is History'.”
When asked about the favorite part of his job, Jeff said “I know that I am going to sound like a broken record, but it is the people and the mission of MK Battery to enhance people’s lives. For example, MK Battery has been the title sponsor to the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) going on 10 years. I was fortunate enough to attend one of the soccer tournaments early on and immediately became hooked! So much so, I have become MK Battery’s unofficial (or perhaps official) “ambassador” to power soccer and have never missed a major tournament. This sport and this association truly changes lives…I have seen it firsthand, and MK Battery’s commitment to these athletes and to the organization is really something special.”
A typical day at MK Battery for Jeff is hard to pin down as his team is kind of the jack-of-all-trades. Jeff stated, “First and foremost, I have an amazing team and throughout the years, we have demonstrated the ability to handle anything thrown our way. To that end, I am not sure most days fall into a “typical” category. I once worked for a company that did not have job titles…everyone represented all aspects of the company to include, sales, operations, customer service as well as finance. I would like to think that my team and I are a throwback to those times. Whether it is visiting a customer, fielding a call from a supplier, working with accounting, or riding along with a route driver, it is all in a day’s work.”
Jeff is extremely proud of MK Battery’s culture, integrity, and commitment to quality, and he states that all these attributes are encompassed in its people and that is what separates MK Battery from all other companies. “MK Battery has a great story to tell, and I love telling it to anyone who will listen, especially to prospective new hires.” With an average tenure of over 12 years, Jeff tells new recruits that there is no secret to MK Battery’s success. We simply look to hire the right people, provide exceptional training, provide excellent benefits, offer quality products, listen to our employees and customers, and support the heck out of them. Jeff has a very simple work motto, “You must love what you do, who you do it with and who you do it for.” I think given the history of MK Battery; many others must feel the same way.
During his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have a teenage son who is heavily involved in competitive soccer, so for 11 months a year, you will likely catch the entire family out on the pitch. He also enjoys spending time mountain biking or riding his Peloton, because as noted he has a teenage son, so he is trying to keep up. If Jeff could go anywhere in the world, he would like to visit French Polynesia and spend a week relaxing in the overwater bungalows, and one day get to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.
Thank you, Jeff, for your dedication and commitment to the success of MK Battery!
